Everyday we go through life getting ready for a number of things that could occur in our lives, or things we know are going to happen down the road. We get our finances together for our kids to go to college, we implement savings plans for when we reach our golden years, we will get our vehicles ready for the warm and cold weather, we plan for our kids first day of school. We will even plan what we are going to have for dinner for the following week. However, how many of us will take the time or the effort to prepare for severe weather? I see it time and time again that people do not even know what a “72 hour kit is and when explained to them, I get the response; more times than I care to count, “Well it is okay, I have never had to deal with it before.” Alternatively, another frequent response is, “Well we do not have severe weather that often, so why should I bother.”
